Digital cluster retrofit — BMW F20
BMW 1 Series / X1 / X2 Digital Cluster Upgrade
The compact-body cluster: a 10.25-inch integrated unit shared by the rear-wheel-drive 1 Series and the front-wheel-drive X1 and X2. A 10.25" 1920 x 720 panel, integrated replacement for the 2013-2017 cars: plug-and-play harness, CAN bus plug-in, no coding — and because the original mainboard stays in the car, mileage and service data are the car's own.
What you get
- 12.3-inch or 10.25-inch 1920 x 720 panel replacing the analog dials
- Original cluster mainboard kept - mileage and service intervals stay the car's own
- Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto built in as standard
- 16 UI styles, 21 color combinations, 13 languages
- Plug-and-play harness - the factory connector plugs straight in, no wire cutting and no splicing
- CAN bus plug-in, no coding: the cluster reads the car over the bus it already has, so there is no coding session and no dealer visit
- Works with or without the factory MOST optical fiber
What it looks like

Fitment at a glance
Everything in this table comes from the fitment we quote from — if your car does not match a line, we will tell you before you order rather than after.
| Chassis | Model years | Panel | Factory system | Fitment type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| F20 · F21 · F48 · F49 | 2013-2017 | 10.25" | NBT | Integrated replacement |
Build years overlap differently by market - X1 and X2 production started later than the 1 Series. Send us the VIN or the build month and we confirm before you order.
Questions on this chassis
Is this the same cluster for the 1 Series and the X1?
They share the same 10.25-inch integrated unit, yes, but the binnacle differs. The 1 Series F20/F21 and the X1 F48 / X2 F49 use different mounting frames, which we supply matched to the car you name on the order.
Why does the year range end in 2017 when the X2 came later?
Because the range on this page is the span we have confirmed for the three bodies together, and the X2 only overlapped the tail of it. If your X2 is a later build, send us the VIN - there is a good chance the same unit still applies, and we would rather check than guess.
Can I test one unit first?
Yes. One unit ships at the same unit price as any larger order, nothing commits you to a second order, and a test unit leaves the factory in 3-7 working days.
Is coding or an odometer setup needed after fitting?
No. The original cluster mainboard stays in the car, so mileage, service intervals and warning data are the car's own. Nothing is coded, flashed or reset.
Will it fit the car in front of you?
Two questions and a photo is usually all it takes. The checker answers from the same table we quote from.
How it mounts
Integrated replacement — F20 · F21 · F48 · F49
The cluster body is replaced outright with the new panel and the original mainboard is transferred into it. The binnacle keeps its factory position, the original trim frame is reused, and the car's own data feeds the new screen because the logic board never leaves the car.Time in the bay. Ten minutes. The cluster goes onto the factory connector through a plug-and-play harness, so there is nothing to code and no odometer to set up. A shop that swaps the cluster board instead keeps the car in the bay for 90 minutes or more, then adds flashing, coding and a mileage correction on top.
